Email-Ready Response for the “Why Do Vegans Eat Mock Meat” Comment

Mock products—doused with oil, salt, sugar and spices—satisfy the addiction

(Posted August 2, 2016)  Thought I’d share an email with my response so you can have it handy the next time some dipshit asks why many vegans eat mock meat and dairy products.

Q: My grandmother is fighting against veganism saying what's the point of eating vegan food if it looks and tastes like animal products. She says we are trying to trick our mind into thinking we are eating meat. Quote from her: "Don't dress up something to look like meat if you are not trying to eat meat. If I was vegan I'd be true and eat just plants instead of things that look like meat." She wants to know exactly what you have to say.

A: Veganism is about OPPOSING the rape, enslavement, baby-stealing and murder of animals. Eating mock meat and dairy cause NO pain, NO suffering, NO rape, NO slavery, NO baby-stealing and NO murder. Must a few enlightened souls ALWAYS have to explain to the masses why the aforesaid practices are evil? Why do the masses constantly fight against progress, compassion and equality? Never once in the history of humankind has the majority started out on the right side of justice. And, Grandma, if you are so interested in not dressing things up, then why do you DOUSE meat with oil, salt, sugar and spices, and eat your meat sandwiches with onions, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, mustard and ketchup between two slices of bread? Why not simply eat a cow's leg or belly AS IS? Dig your teeth into that stuff and have the blood juices squirt all over your face and down your throat. Why cook meat and DRESS IT UP as something it ain't? Next time you're hungry, tackle, kill and devour the first animal you see like the carnivore you claim to be. Oh yeah, I forgot, you are an herbivore DRESSING UP as a carnivore, which means you are fake, fake, fake.

Why is it so difficult for you to understand that every meat, dairy and egg-eater is ADDICTED to animal products because of how it’s DRESSED UP? Mock products - doused with oil, salt, sugar and spices - satisfies the addiction, which in turn liberates animals from the world's largest and longest running holocaust. But just so ya know, many vegans only use the mock products as a stepping stone to eating nothing but fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains and legumes. Mock products are akin to non-alcoholic beer and nicotine patches, which means the vegans of the world - instead of just complaining about a problem - are actually offering a comprehensive solution to everyone's problems. Sounds like vegans are, ONCE AGAIN, the only ones who care, the only ones who are trying, and the only ones who are making a difference.

How about this: Stop making excuses to do nothing, and make an excuse to actually do something positive and beneficial for the animals and the earth. Or, will you be another do-nothing complainer, who thinks their ways are infallible, who has NO courage to admit when they're wrong, who will continue to cause massive amounts of pain to others RATHER than make amends, apologize and evolve?

Sadly, I'll bet my life that you choose to do nothing because YOUR pride/ego is worth more to you than someone else's life! People like you are the reason why I’m embarrassed to be human, and why I am a proud misanthrope. People like you have destroyed my soul, my heart and my BEING. I used to care about humans. But now I pray daily for a virus to wipe us off the planet because we are nothing but takers, destroyers, rapists, baby-stealers, mass murderers, liars, deceivers and do-nothing pricks. We are a scourge to this planet and WITHOUT US everything benefits, from the animals to the water, from the air to the forests.

When you are on your deathbed, suffering, and asking God for MERCY, may the following words from author Matthew Scully (DOMINION) ring in your ear: “How can you expect to receive something (mercy) that you are unwilling to give?” Then, maybe, you'll understand what it's like to be treated like nothing, like your life doesn't matter, which it doesn’t.
