Thank you for helping me. I've learned so much from you, and still do. I am 28 and used to only eat meat and dairy and loved it. I didn't like vegetables and grains. Six months ago I watched some of your speeches, and have been vegan ever since. Now I only eat vegetables and grains and fruits. Me and family are gonna be vegan for the rest of our lives.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. I watched your videos and started to learn. I still have the lump, but the quality of my life is so much better since I became vegan. Thank you so much for changing my life and the life of so many other people. I hope I live long enough to see the whole world vegan. I also want to thank the inventors of The Internet. Without them, I would not know about you or veganism. Maybe I would be dead from the cancer.

What an honor it is to even get the chance to send you an email. I have known of you for the last nine months now and find your interviews fascinating. I'm 16 years old living in Dublin, Ireland. I've been on a completely plant based diet for the last nine months and never plan on turning back. You and your speeches pushed me towards being a vegan.

This is my thank you message to you on behalf of most, if not all the vegan activists in India, for being who you are and doing what you do. We are literally using your speech as a blueprint to reach out to the Indian community and spread the vegan message through our outreach programmes, lectures and so forth. If it were not for you, I would have never met an awesome guy whom I am in a relationship with now. It's been a few months since he quit his job to become a full time activist. He is currently travelling around the country giving talks in schools and colleges, while inspiring other vegans to get actively involved in spreading the message. Many call him 'the Gary of India' as his approach is similar to yours in many ways. He always makes it a point to give you your due for taking off his blinders, and inspiring him to actively contribute to the movement.

I go to a high school in Kansas, and am currently working on a new project which involves choosing an unsung hero who is inspirational and makes a change in the world. I would like to center my project around you and veganism. In this project, an unsung hero is an individual who has yet to be recognized for taking extraordinary actions that improved the lives of others and created a change in the world over time, and I immediately thought of you. I feel like this project would be an amazing way to spread the vegan message and to recognize all of the things you have accomplished.

I just wanted to take some time out of my day to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I was raised vegetarian by my parents who were loosely involved in the 7th Day Adventist church. At the age of 14 I had enough of the questions, the looks, the stares and the comments. So I began to eat meat. Not because I was hungry or malnourished or skinny and weak. It was because I was tired of being told I was odd or different. Looking back now I can't believe how mentally weak I was. I just wanted to be "normal". I guess as a kid that seems like a decent train of thought. As an adult I equate that to doing something idiotic like jumping off a fucking bridge just because society says it's normal. I'm 35 now and I just watched one of your lectures on YouTube. It's like I always knew what was right but was blind to the fact. I feel ashamed at the moment. Ashamed that I let the media and the food industry comfort me in eating that complete bullshit. For just over 2 decades now I have been directly involved in the massacre of many species on this planet all the while fueling my own body, my temple, with shit and lies. You see I'm not that weak minded teen anymore. I'm not concerned with comments or looks or stares anymore. As of this moment I'm done with meat and animal products.

I just want to thank you, not only for the incredibly powerful message that you spread, but also for the impact you have made on me. I am still extremely new to veganism, and a 19 year old freshman in college. I have been raised on a diet very heavy in animal products. I was able to reconnect with a good friend that I had not seen in a long time this past weekend who is now vegan. He introduced me to the whole idea and pointed me to various documentaries and other resources including your powerful speeches. You were the one who truly locked me into place in terms of becoming vegan. I hope more people will listen. I know that I am excited to do my part and spread the message to as many people as I can. I thank you, the animals thank you, this planet thanks you, and I'm sure God thanks you as well.

I've just woken up and am pretty disgusted and ashamed of myself. Thanks for being such an inspiration and waking me up. I'm a high school teacher, and think an activist club would be a thing to get going. You're a hero to humans and all our animal brethren, and I really think that one day animal slaughter will be viewed like all the past atrocities and mistakes humans had to wash themselves clean of. It will be so obviously wrong and vegans will be on the right side of history.

Your video changed my life forever. I struggled my whole life with eating habits. I also had a subconscious wall built to ignore the horrible crimes I supported by eating meat/animal products. I watched your GA Tech video in early May of last year and I will never be the same. In a little over an hour you convinced me to let go of my "favorite" foods and realize that there was a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lifestyle out there for me. Single-handedly, you did that for me. For that, I'm eternally grateful and you will always be my hero. I hope I can meet you someday. I think you would be proud of the things I've done in support of animal rights. Not quite up to releasing minks and getting arrested but I strive to be there one day.

I found you on YouTube tonight. After watching most of your speeches, I texted a buddy and told him to watch your Georgia Tech speech, telling him that it is the presentation I'd give if I had the balls to do it. I'm a 51 year-old high school English teacher and have recently embraced, after several attempts and failures, veganism as more than just a smart diet to stay healthy. Your balls-to-the-walls style and intelligent, logical arguments brought me back to the eight-year-old boy who sat in front of the TV and cried when I watched a PBS special on the particulars of veal "production." I remember going to my mother and weeping for these animals, crying for their innocence stolen and defiled just for a tender piece of meat. I felt as though I had been kicked in the stomach with a steel-toed boot. Thank you for what you've done and what you've sacrificed for this most worthy cause. You are a hero and role model. Your ideas inspired a thought in me this evening: Could it be that our inability to exercise wider compassion and kindness as individuals and as a society is deeply rooted in our subconscious guilt for how we are able to eat the flesh of tortured and heinously slaughtered fellow creatures? I mean, how can we truly be pure in our loving intentions while we live in a most debased denial of our cruelty?
Sent: Saturday, February 11, 2017 7:22 AM
If I didn't discover your speech, I would never be vegan. Some vegans don't like your 'militant' approach but it works for me.
Sent: Friday, February 10, 2017 5:36 PM
I have been vegan since I saw your Georgia Tech speech a month ago. With your information, I had the urge and confidence to go vegan without looking back. One week after my vegan switch, my partner caught food-poisoning from pig meat. He vowed to never eat meat again. Thank you so much for all you have done to help the animals. You have saved hundreds of animals from my plate and hopefully many thousands more through my actions.

I watched your speech on YouTube and was blown away. Hearing what you had to say has made me more determined than ever to spread the word of veganism. I have become truly disgusted with the way I was brought up to believe that it is acceptable to do what we do to animals, to be told we NEED to eat them, to frown upon those who don't. I was a leather-wearing, meat-eating, dairy-consuming part of society for 25 years, and I'm disgusted that it took me so long to see what is happening, that we have to convince people to not commit animal cruelty, that we have to convince people to not hurt animals. I watched your speech with my boyfriend who has some vegan tendencies. He said he wants to become vegan now. I honestly cannot believe people have labelled you a terrorist! If anything, watching your speech made me think, “Damn, one day, I want to be that person. I want to be known for doing everything in my power to liberate animals.” When I'm old and decrepit, you will be the kind of person I will be teaching my grandchildren about, teaching them to be part of what I hope will be a revolution that will change the world.

I am a 57 year old male from the UK who has consumed animal products all of my life. I believed animals were meant to be eaten by us, which was why they were on this planet. About 2 months ago on a Friday evening driving back from work I was looking forward to drinking a bottle of wine and forgetting about the shit week I had at work. Unbeknown to me, one of my daughters sent my wife a link to one of your talks. When I got home my wife said she hid my wine and would only tell me where it was after I watched your talk. I would have done anything to get that wine. Thinking it would take 15–20 minutes at the most, I agreed. A bloody 90 minutes later I got my wine. The images of animals being slaughtered affected me though it was the rationality of the reasons you discussed that got me thinking. I told some of my colleagues and sent her a link to your lecture that made me become vegan. She told me she is going to make changes. My wife and I feel emotionally and mentally better than we have in a long time. We can look at ourselves in the mirror and genuinely say that we are not now part of the slaughter of other species. Thanks for helping me and my wife become vegans.
